Beach Bean

20 Sep

This native vine was found growing at Canaveral National Seashore. The bean was about 5″ long! The flowers are a lovely lavender and the leaves were quite large. A pretty plant for dry seaside gardens.

Always love your shots! This is no exception. A very interesting little plant.

Thanks! I am always torn between taking a purely artistic view of the flowers vs taking an educational view (show more of leaves of the plant for identification). For this blog I lean more towards the educational – but sometimes I get lucky manage to do both!
