Wild Coffee anyone?

10 Jul

Wild Coffee is a plant that looks much like a gardenia. It grows wild in my yard under the oaks & palms. They don’t grow crazy wild – they just grow slowly into a nice evergreen shrub with shiny green leaves and clusters of white flowers. In the fall the flowers become shiny red coffee berries. I have never tried making coffee from the beans because I hear it doesn’t taste good & has no caffeine. The zebra longwing butterflies really like the flowers though.
