Yellow Passion

11 May

This little yellow passion vine was growing in the hedge at my parent’s house. The hedge was there while I was growing up – but this vine wasn’t. I had never seen them before until just a couple of years ago – now they seem to be everywhere. I wonder what the deal is with that?

It’s a small vine with tiny yellow flowers. Even though it is small, it is a big favorite host plant of the zebra longwing & gulf fritillary butterflies.
